The buzz around town is will Joe Mauer re-sign with the Twins. He is in the last year of his contract making $12.5 million. The Twins need to re-sign him before the season is over, if they don’t, say goodbye to the Baby Jesus.
The thing everyone knows here in Twins Territory is that the Pohlad’s never spend any money on players. Will they dig into their deep pockets this season to sign the most popular player since Kirby Puckett? I for one hope they do, even if I do rip the guy from time to time.

As Mauer took questions from a small group of reporters in a basement hallway, teammate and close friend Justin Morneau walked by and shouted, “14-year extension, 20 a year!”
Personally I think the Twins need Mauer, not only because he is a great player, but because he puts the Twins on the map. He give them a face. So get to it and sign his ass.
